The opening three rounds of the Ocean6 proved absolutely vital for athletes hoping to become series professionals. The promotion to series professional grants a golden ticket through to the final of the remaining three rounds, skipping the grueling qualification process of added cutthroat and high-pressure racing, athletes can now focus and prepare for the fast paced final of each round. Alongside a guaranteed spot in the final, the pros can focus on getting valuable points on the board to give them a shot at overall series success.Image: Max Brooks will be glad to bypass the dreaded qualification process. Back in Round Two he had to do three M-Shape Iron’s just to line up for the Sunday Final where he went on to an incredible second place.

The Nutri-Grain IronMan and IronWoman Series saw six professional spots up for grabs to join the top six from last year’s series, making a total of 12 series professionals heading into the final three rounds. The successful challengers included TJ Hendy, James Lacy, Max Brooks, Nath Gray, Jay Furniss and Hayden White in the men and Brielle Cooper, Danielle McKenzie, Jemma Smith, Lana Rogers, Lizzie Welborn and Jordy Mercer in the women. Those athletes unsuccessful in reaching professional status will still have a chance at the action with eight spots up for grabs at each remaining round.
