Nutri-Grain Ironman and Ironwoman Series overview:
This year Nutri-Grain is excited to continue their long-term support of Surf Sports as major partner of Ocean6 and naming rights owner of our Ironman and Ironwoman series.
Given the elite nature of the Nutri-Grain Ironman and Ironwoman competition, the number of competitors in ironman events will be 20 in heats and finals. This will maximize the number of qualification opportunities for aspiring elite athletes.
The courses and official instructions will vary from traditional surf sports carnival layouts from time to time for the promotion of safety, course integrity, and in some cases broadcast entertainment.
Qualification for the 2017/18 Nutri-grain Ironman Series:
The following athletes have gained automatic qualification into all six rounds of the Nutri-Grain Ironman Series. They are deemed the “professionals” and will race in a green rashie for the men and a blue one piece for the females:
Men: 1. Matt Poole, 2. Shannon Eckstein, 3. Kendrick Louis, 4. Ali Day, 5. Luke Cuff, 6. Matt Bevilacqua
Woman: 1. Harriet Brown, 2. Courtney Hancock, 3. Karlee Nurthen, 4. Maddy Dunn, 5. Georgia Miller, 6. Rebecca Creedy
The opening three rounds will have a qualification process where the top 14 athletes will gain entry into that round of the Nutri-Grain Ironman Series. These 14 Ironmen & Ironwoman will be deemed the challengers and will race in yellow rashies for the men and a pink one piece for the females. They will be joined by the six “professionals” who have already qualified for the series.
At the completion of round three, the highest 6 ranked non professional’s (Those who didn’t place top 6 in the series last year) will become “professionals” gaining automatic qualification into all remaining rounds of the Nutri-Grain Ironman Series. The men will be promoted to the green rashie and the females will be promoted to the blue one piece.
Round’s 4-6 will then offer the same qualification process with the top 8 athletes gaining entry to race in the same round of the Nurti-Grain Ironman Series. They will be joined by the 12 professional Ironmen and Ironwoman leaving 8 places for the challengers.
The overall Nutri-Grain Ironman Series Winner:
The overall Nutri-Grain Ironman & Ironwoman series winner will be the highest accumulated 5 round total. This will allow athletes who qualify for all 6 finals to discard their worst placing.

Whilst we are working with athletes to create as many opportunities to display personal sponsors as possible, we will need to cover or remove personal sponsors from craft in some cases where an individuals sponsor conflicts with one of our series partners.
We do rely almost entirely on our fantastic partners to create the events, athletes prize pools, and cover broadcast costs for Summer of Surf and need to live up to all of our sponsorship obligations.
Therefore the conditions of registration for each event must be adhered to.
These conditions essentially state that in order to receive any prize monies and points for Ocean6 event finals, all athletes must wear event sponsor race shirts and swimwear (where applicable), place stickers on craft and allow GoPro’s to be attached to race craft when asked.
Athletes that make an Ocean6 final will have the opportunity to purchase a vest to add their personal sponsor. All finalists may apply to email@example.com
Please include; athletes name, Series, sponsors name, sponsors industry and sponsors artwork (in vector form).
Upon approval of your application a $60 fee will be required (cost of vest and printing of logo included).
Ocean6 is proud to present an exciting prize pool for all events in the Nutri-Grain Ironman and Ironwoman Series this year.
In order for athletes to win prize monies detailed below, all sponsor requirements must be strictly adhered to. Please check back here shortly to download the NutriGrain Ironman and Ironwoman Series and Individual Sponsorship guideline sheet that will be enforced.
